Equality First: Bullies are Often Their Own First Victims.

When we launched Ginger-Jitsu, our intention was not to support those who had been victims of bullying only. Children who are at-risk of becoming bullies also need support in order to avoid the temptations of bullying behavior. Contrary to popular belief, children at risk of becoming bullies don't often have a history of being bullied, nor do they have low self-esteem. This can negatively affect the opportunity these children will have to receive support, since they are prone to being labeled as "bad" or as an "aggressor." At Ginger-Jitsu, we feel that all children are deserving of support. Children who have the following traits may fall victim to becoming bullies: impulsivity & poor self-control, dominance-seeking, aggressive tendencies, low empathy, high self-esteem*, manipulative social skills, trouble accepting accountability, and perceived hostility.

This infographic shows how powerful Jiu-Jitsu can be for all children, namely those who have personality traits that place them at-risk of becoming bullies.
