Patch Program
How it Works
The Ginger-Jitsu Leadership Patch is a symbol of commitment, accountability, and leadership. There are two different paths to earning the Ginger-Jitsu Leadership Patch. The Traditional Path is taken by those who are already in the BJJ Community, but want to define themselves as mentors among friends, and leaders in combatting bullying. The Tandem Path is for ambitious students in the Student Program. Although this path potentially allows up to three additional months to complete compared to the Traditional Path, it is no less challenging and holds the same level of honor. Graduates of the Student Program who are able to be awarded a Ginger-Jitsu Leadership Patch upon completion of the Tandem Path should be duly proud of their dedication to self-improvement and empowerment!
Earning the Patch
Traditional Path
Tandem Path

This path is intended for current BJJ Athletes who care for their community and are serious about empowering themselves for a successful future.
How it Works:
-
Any BJJ student can pursue the Ginger-Jitsu Leadership Patch!
-
Must have a history of consistent training at their academy and currently train no less than twice a week.
-
Complete 12 Community Acts (as outlined below) over a period of 3 months. We recommend one act per week in order to accomplish this challenge.
-
Acts must be signed off by a trusted adult on the Ginger-Jitsu signature page that will be provided, and verification of consistent training during the 3 month period must be signed off by the academy's head Professor or Coach.
Result:
-
After verification of the 12 completed community acts and consistent training over the 3-month period, the dedicated fighter will be awarded the Ginger-Jitsu Leadership Patch.
This path is designed to be offered to new BJJ Athletes in the Student Program, and to be completed in tandem with that program. Interested students will need to start this journey within the initial phase of the 6-month Student Program in order to allow ample time to adjust to a newly added BJJ training commitment and to incorporate 12 Community Acts (as outlined below).
THIS IS NOT A MANDATORY STEP IN THE STUDENT PROGRAM!
How it Works:
-
Any student already participating in the Student Program may opt to add on the Tandem Path to their journey.
-
Must maintain training commitment and consistency required by the Student Program.
-
Complete 12 Community Acts before completion of the 6-month Student Program.
-
Acts must be signed off by a trusted adult on the Ginger-Jitsu signature page that will be provided, and verification of consistent training during the 3 month period must be signed off by the academy's head Professor or Coach.
Result:
-
Upon completion of the requirements of the Student Program, to include monthly check-ins and verification of consistency, and 12 community acts, the student will earn their Ginger-Jitsu Leadership Patch upon graduation of the Student Program.
